I didn't watch the whole video so I don't know if this was mentioned, but as someone who's researched the North Wales slate industry history intensively, Cwmorthin is one of the mines with a particularly bad safety record for rock fall during it's operation. Whilst the slate industry generally had a _crushing_ effect on human health, this place was referred to as "The Slaughterhouse" by locals. One particularly note-worthy detail in this context is the frequent collapses of the roofs inside the slate chambers, which can also be observed during a visit to the mine. There is substantial subsidence in the mountains above the mine, which can be observed during a hike. This area is generally very interesting to explore, for someone who is interested in the industrial history of North Wales, and a lovely landscape for hikes as well.

surströmming is from sweden and its kind of a staple. The smell can linger for months or sometimes even years, so no one opens them inside. a lot of people (mostly older people) love/like the taste but i don't think anyone likes the smell. fun fact: surströmming was very often used to make stink bombs that students put in the ventelation of the school. and also, many many people have said that it's the worst thing they've ever smelled. i think it's so funny when non swedish people hear about and try surströmming, because they haven't grown up hearing about it
